Choosing The Right Fence Panels

There are many different types of fence panels to choose from. If you are struggling to choose the right garden fencing, here are a few things to consider before you buy.

Considerations When Choosing Garden Fence Panels:

Purpose

First of all, you need to think about the purpose of your fence.

You may need to give the children a playing boundary, want more privacy in your garden, or perhaps you would just like a decorative fenced area.

Thinking about the purpose before anything else is crucial, as this helps with all the other points you need to consider.

Dimensions

Once you have thought about the purpose, you can then work out the dimensions of the fence panels.

Consider what sized fence panels you need to fulfil the purpose and, of course, how many fence panels you need to complete the area you are working with.

Appearance

Appearance is next on the list.

You should have an idea of the look of your fence panels, and whether you will go for high-quality pressure-treated boards (therefore a smoother finish to the panel) or those with a rougher, more rustic finish.

There are plenty of designs to choose from. You could choose to have a simple design, whereby the fence is a standard board panel, or you may opt for a more detailed design, perhaps with trellis to support climbing plants.

Treatment

Finally, you need to think about treatment.

Dip Treatment

Our dip-treated fence panels come with a splendid 10 year anti-rot guarantee, providing they are isolated from ground contact and annually re-treated with a timber preservative, which has the added bonus of keeping the panels looking new.

Pressure Treatment

Here, preservative is forced into the timber at high pressure, giving a longer life expectancy and removing the need for annual re-treatment.

Our pressure-treated fence panels come with a superb 15-year anti-rot guarantee.
