Installing wooden fence posts can sometimes seem like a bit of a daunting task for the average gardener. Not only do you need to dig the hole in the first place, but then comes the slow and tricky process of filling that hole with bags of heavy concrete.

But what if there was an easier way to secure those fence posts into the ground? A faster and an all-round smarter way?

Thankfully, there is!

Introducing Postsaver Pro-Set Rigid Post Fixing Foam for Fence Posts

The award-winning Postsaver Pro-Set Rigid Post Fixing Foam for Fence Posts is quick to use, hassle-free and gives you a rock-solid finish in just 90 minutes. As strong as traditional concrete, this expanding post foam is 97% lighter and so much easier to use. There’s no need to mix it with water, there are no heavy bags to contend with, and it’s suitable for any type and size of wooden fence post too.

How the Post Fixing Foam Works

The post foam consists of 50% expanding foam and 50% resin. This combination means that, unlike conventional foams, it sets to an extremely hard level. You simply need to shake the bag, pour the contents into the hole and let it work its magic!

Using the Post Fixing Foam

Installing fence posts with the Postsaver Pro-Set Post Fixing Foam couldn’t be easier. Here’s a quick summary of the key steps:

  • Dig a hole that’s the right size for your chosen fence post. For a 4 x 4” post for example, a depth of 2ft is recommended. A post hole digger or fencing spade can be a handy tool to use here.
  • Remove the safely bar and shake the fence post foam bag for 1 minute.
  • Pour half of the contents of the bag into the hole, working it around your fence post. Start by pouring the foam against the surface of the post as this will help to ensure the foam doesn’t mushroom and trap water. The reason that you only need to use half the contents is because a standard bag of Pro-Set contains enough foam to install two fence posts.
  • Wait 3-5 minutes for the post foam to expand. Once the foam is about 2-3 inches below the ground level, it’s recommended that you backfill the hole with soil to prevent the foam from spilling over. If there is any excess foam, you can easily cut this away.
  • Wait a further 90 minutes for the foam to set entirely. After this, the foam will be at full strength and just as hard as traditional concrete!

There are a couple of other points to bear in mind when using Postsaver Pro-Set foam:

  • Temperature: The ideal temperature when using the foam is between 15 and 20 degrees. If it’s any colder then the foam is likely to take longer to expand.
  • Standing water: Pro-Set can’t be used if there’s any standing water in the hole. To avoid this, put a bin bag in the hole prior to installation to prevent the foam from coming into contact with water.

Weather Resistant

Postsaver Pro-Set fixing foam is completely weatherproof and won’t decay over time. It forms a tight, stable seal around your fence post that will prevent the post from moving, even in windy conditions.

More Environmentally Friendly Than Concrete

The foam’s also completely non-toxic and safe for the environment. The manufacturing process for Postsaver Pro-Set produces far less CO2 than the manufacturing process for concrete and, as the foam is 97% lighter, the impact of transportation on the environment is much less too.
