How-to Install or repair wooden fence posts

We have put together some helpful video guides to advise you on all aspects of installing or replacing a wooden post. Please see below for our guides on “How to replace a damaged or rotten fence post” and “How to install a fence post into soil”. (If you find them useful, please like them on YouTube)

Important tip for when installing wooden posts

It is vital that you dig a deep enough hole to place your fence post. A minimum of 600 mm of the post should be placed into the ground, this is so as the fencing panels are securely supported. For larger fence panels, 1800 mm and over, it's a good idea to insert the post a further 150 mm into the ground.

Accessorise your wood fence post

It's a good idea to add caps to your fence post so as to protect the inner grain for driving rain. You could also add an elegant finishing touch with one of our finials.
