Cookie Policy

At Buy Fencing Direct, we are committed to maintaining the confidence and trust of our website visitors, our newsletter subscribers and our customers. We do not sell or trade email lists or data with other companies or businesses for marketing purposes. In this policy, we’ve outlined when, how and why we collect your personal information.

When you Visit our Website

Cookies:

When you visit our website, we use cookies. Cookies are small text files that a website can write to your computer, mobile or other device. Cookies do lots of different jobs, like letting you navigate between pages efficiently, remembering your preferences, and generally improving your user experience.

We use cookies to identify you, allowing you to create an account and log into our website to review your order history and information held. For example, if you pop something into your basket and come back later, it will still be there.

We use two types of cookies: persistent cookies remain on a user's device for the period of time specified in the cookie and are activated each time the user visits Buy Fencing Direct; session cookies allow website operators to link the actions of a user during a browser session. A browser session starts when a user opens the browser window and finishes when they close the browser window. Session cookies are created temporarily. Once you close the browser, all session cookies are deleted.

Look at the Cookie Chart at the bottom of the policy for further details.

Analytics:

When someone visits www.buyfencingdirect.co.uk, we use third-party services, such as Google Analytics and Quantcast, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is anonymous. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

When you Subscribe to our Newsletter

If you sign up to our newsletter, we will ask for some key personal information. We use that information for a few reasons: to send you the newsletter by email, to address you by name and to check every now and then that you’re satisfied. We do not rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information, please use the link to MailChimp’s privacy policy in the Cookie Chart below.

You can unsubscribe from general mailings at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing Buy Fencing Direct at [email protected]. You can request we then remove your information from our system.

When you Become a Customer

When you purchase a product from us or win a product in a competition, we will ask for your name, address, email and contact number. This is so we can make sure the products are delivered to you efficiently. We will need to share this information with our delivery companies. We use Yodel https://www.yodeldirect.co.uk/content/privacy-policy and DX https://www.dxdelivery.com/legal/privacy-policy/.

If we do not stock the product in our own warehouse, we will need to share this information with suppliers who will send the product directly from their premises. If you require the name of the supplier so you can check their individual privacy policy, please email [email protected] and we will happily provide you with the details.

We will also collect your payment information. Our primary payment processing partner is Opayo (formerly Sage Pay), who are integrated directly to all of the major UK card acquiring institutions. Buy Fencing Direct also accepts PayPal as an alternative payment gateway. Users are subject to the terms of use, privacy policies and legal requirements of each payment gateway.
